Meet Jeffrey Smoorenburg
At the start of 2025, TamCom switched to FieldBuddy Go, our new field service software. “We’ve really taken a step forward. Especially in the efficiency of our processes,” says co-owner Jeffrey Smoorenburg.
What TamCom does, how the partnership with FieldBuddy went and why our field service software makes such a difference? Jeffrey tells you everything in this customer case.
About TamCom
TamCom is an ICT partner specializing in the agricultural sector, primarily active in dairy farming. They offer an extensive range: from a single computer to complete network solutions for barn environments. They work closely with market leader Lely, known for their milking robots.
“We make sure farmers can focus on their business,” says Jeffrey. “We don’t just supply hardware, we take care of the entire ICT side, including management and maintenance, (wifi) networks, camera systems and more.”
TamCom serves more than 3,000 customers in the Netherlands and Belgium and has been active since 2005. With a team of nearly 25 employees and a strong focus on long-term client relationships, TamCom continues to grow.
Why field service software was needed
Before TamCom worked with FieldBuddy Go, they used their own custom-built application. “It worked fine, but too little was being developed in it. Small inefficiencies started to pile up,” says Jeffrey. “With FieldBuddy Go, we get a product that keeps improving itself.”
The decision to work with FieldBuddy came through AFAS, the ERP package TamCom uses. “AFAS recommended FieldBuddy, and it clicked right away. We could see: this fits us.”
The transition happened in phases: get the basics right first, then continue to optimize. By now, TamCom has significantly improved many processes.
Results: more efficiency, less manual work
According to Jeffrey, the benefits are clear:

Instead of separate Excel sheets, TamCom now works with the integrated planning board in FieldBuddy Go.
Time savings for technicians
With automatic time registration, technicians no longer have to manually note and calculate their hours.
Fewer errors
Products can now be scanned, preventing the wrong materials from being used.
Faster invoicing
Thanks to automatic time registration and price agreements, order processing runs much more smoothly.
“Before, you had to enter working hours manually. That took time and caused errors. Now it practically runs itself,” Jeffrey explains.
A software platform that grows with you
TamCom doesn’t see FieldBuddy Go as a final destination, but as a platform that grows alongside them. “We’ve now got the basics set up properly. The next step is to automate more customer agreements and workflows. That’s how we’ll make the next efficiency leap.”
TamCom has also actively contributed ideas for improvements to FieldBuddy Go, such as adding RMA numbers and specific fields for material returns.
Jeffrey: “It’s great that suggestions are picked up quickly. We’re genuinely building a better platform together.”
Switching to FieldBuddy Go was absolutely the right choice. We're more efficient, make fewer errors, and can now really build towards our growth.
