First pilot customer of FieldBuddy Go
At the start of 2023, we launched our new field service software: FieldBuddy Go. And after months of hard work, DAEL Groep became the very first customer to make the switch. “We were the very first pilot group to migrate to FieldBuddy Go. That meant working closely with FieldBuddy to put the finishing touches on the software. The package we have now is a real improvement on the old software,” says business analyst Arjan Burgers.
How that collaboration worked and what Arjan sees as the main benefits of FieldBuddy Go? He tells all in this interview.
The DAEL companies
DAEL Groep consists of eight different technical companies, specializing in areas such as climate technology (DAEL Klimaat), telecom (DAEL Telecom) and security (DAEL Security), to name a few. The companies not only have different specializations, but also their own service packages, clients and staff. Together, they install and maintain technical systems for customers across the Netherlands and beyond.
And when you operate on such a large scale, good field service software is essential. “We’ve been working with AFAS, an ERP system, for about six years. They work with FieldBuddy and recommended them at the time as software for our service management. You really need software like this when you operate across the country. Running a clear policy across all your technicians? You can only do that with service management software. So we implemented FieldBuddy across all our subsidiaries,” says Arjan.
FieldBuddy Go: another step forward
“Since implementing FieldBuddy in our companies, we’ve already saved a lot of time. The work order process is fully automated, which is great for our service managers. But the old package was getting a bit dated in places,” Arjan admits. “That’s changed now. The new software is a world apart from the old one. FieldBuddy Go is a major step forward.
The biggest difference is in usability. There’s now a drag-and-drop function in the planning board, making changes much easier to apply. Especially for our planners, that’s hugely helpful. I’m also happy with the continuous development of FieldBuddy Go. We can already see that they keep adding new features to the software.”
Pilot group
“We indicated early on that we wanted to be part of the pilot group. Let us contribute, and we’ll help each other. Said and done. That collaboration went very well. Together with our consultants, Patrick Servais and Jo van Montfort, we worked through various scenarios for setting up the software. They made sure our integrations were configured to our liking in a short time.”
Keeping on developing
At FieldBuddy, we believe in continuously improving our software. With a major investor like Main Capital, we regularly develop new features. “That’s a real plus point of FieldBuddy Go. During these sprints, several features we requested in conversations with the consultants have already been launched. It’s good to see that FieldBuddy follows through on that.”
Testing and implementation
When DAEL began implementing FieldBuddy Go, they chose to roll it out step by step, starting with HNL Groep, as Arjan explains. “That’s our smallest subsidiary, which made it a good starting point for rolling out FieldBuddy Go. To get everyone up to speed with the new software, FieldBuddy organized training sessions for our back office and office staff.
A few employees from our other companies also joined, we wanted to show them what was coming. Finally, we trained our technicians, and then it was time to go live with FieldBuddy Go. More and more DAEL companies are now making the switch, and the pace is picking up. That’s possible now that everything is set up the way we want it.”
The best field service software
The best field service software for your company, that’s how we market FieldBuddy Go. How does Arjan see it? “Especially our planners are very happy with the new software. Features like the drag-and-drop function streamline their work and make processes much more user-friendly. It’s also faster and looks a lot better.
All these improvements might seem small, but they make a world of difference for our service managers. It’s also a lot more workable than the old software and, in my opinion, a big step forward.”
